World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), March 21st, is a global day of awareness which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012, and officially enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in 2016. The date 3-21, represents the triplication of the 21st chromosome, which identifies Down syndrome. As a sign of support, people wear mismatched socks to show their awareness that differences are beautiful.
